I have only been here once, but was looking to try something new that had yummy tacos, burritos, etc (not fancy Mexican food). I had the al pastor taco, chimichanga, rice, carne asada taco, and margarita. All were quite delicious. Only complaint would be the margarita was hard to drink due to the crumbly ice without a straw. Just kept getting ice in my face. Overall, very happy and would go back again. More often if I lived close.
It's been amazing every time. Great service and personality, delicious food; the mole sauce I'm living for; amazing Margaritas as well.
Their food is amazing! The sauces had the perfect amount of spice. I picked up food from their new location and the staff were very friendly and their packaging is pretty eco-friendly. It was mostly paper (compostable) and aluminum foil (recyclable). Their new location looks great and I will definitely order from them again.
Prices are great food is amazing and the service is outstanding!
Interesting menu. Everyone at our table got something different and all dishes were delicious. While they do ha e usual Mexican fare such as tacos, burritos and enchiladas they also have an interesting take on these dishes. I'll certainly be back.
Walked in to grab lunch on the go and tried their seafood shrimp burrito. I figured there would be like 3 or 4 shrimp in there, but to my surprise there was more like 7. Seasoned right, just the right amount of rice and beans and the flour tortilla wasn't soggy or greasy as I unwrapped it (super annoying). Not to mention, their green sauce complimented it perfectly. Well done you guys.
New location on N Williams in the old Lompoc 5th Quadrant space is open for takeout (during the lockdown). Same high quality food, handmade tortillas, and great people. Support local businesses
Must have!! Delicious, well prepared.
Best delivery since covid. Hearty nachos, flavorful burrito, great sauces. No drop in quality standards.
The basic house Margaritas were super great. Perfect on cold winter afternoon under a warm heat vent.
Booked a dinner here for 27 relatives while we were all visiting Portland from all over the country and London. The owners and staff could not have been any nicer or accommodating. The food was outstanding, authentic and with the freshest ingredients. We used their new expanded space which worked out perfectly for such a large dinner party. Everyone had a fantastic meal and enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend La Cocina while in Portland.
Just discovered this restaurant today and I'm so impressed! They have delicious vegan options, great cocktails, friendly staff, AND table service! My partner & I got the potato taquiitos (best we've ever had), enchiladas verdes with soyrizo, and tortilla soup (also amazing). Seems like a great spot for a birthday or celebratory dinner.
Consistently GREAT food. My Mexican stepmother was a wonderful cook....this place easily rivals her homemade in every sense, except for the takeout boxes. Lol. Tamales and La Costa enchiladas are my favs. Real good flavors from entrees to beans and rice
Service was great food was delicioso
Great salmon burrito with a tender, flaky tortilla and fresh, delicious ingredients. Nice house salsa and chips and friendly staff. Pretty place, too. I'll be back!
The food was fresh and extremely flavorful. It tasted like true authentic Mexican food. The food tasted like a recipe that was carefully handed down through generations. They had a nice laid back ambience and great food!
warm and welcoming such an incredible spot super delicious , service was great , the food was so fresh and very flavorful. Had the enchiladas verdes and they were totally amazing and you can tell the ingredients were very fresh. Will be back !
My first time at this place and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Aside from the service being a bit slow (our drinks took about 15 minutes), it was a good place. The outside patio is the perfect place to enjoy a sangria or one of their huge margaritas. I had the chicken tamales, my friend had the taquitos and we also shared some tacos. The portions aren't the biggest but the flavors are pretty authentic. Not too pricey either.
The food is pretty good! They have great salsa. The white wine cream sauce and queso burrito was pretty good! They have great blended salsa. Margaritas were weak, this could be a cool place to drink if they could make better cocktails and improve their bar atmosphere.
Absolutely the best Mexican food I've had. Not too expensive either.
My personal experience was this .. the people (staff) there are AMAZING!! My daughter was craving something that wasn't even on the menu and yet .. the chef I believe his name is Roberto came out personally to our table to explain to us how he was going to prepare my daughter's dish! WOW! He was so nice as to going the extra step to please her. The restaurant is clean clean clean and so are the staff. That day was my first visit but it won't be our last. Gracias chef Roberto y gracias a todos los que trabajan en el restaurante, nuestra primera visita fue una experiencia inolvidable y pronto regresamos para más. Era mala suerte que no traía mi mejor cámara pero su comida luce y sabe deliciosa.
Stopped be accident for lunch..happy I did..great food!!
We are so excited to have La Cocina down the street since they moved to their new location. Their burritos are super tasty and there’s a lot of flavorful vegan and meat options that will have you coming back for more. Their red and green sauces are delicious. Plus their service is great and has a friendly family vibe! We look forward to enjoying a good time at La Cocina when we are all able to, but for now we’ll be enjoying tasty takeout burritos!
This place is so good. I really like how everything tastes extremely fresh. It’s hard to find good beans around these parts. Also their hot sauce is actually hot. You can tell it’s home made so scrumptious. This place is on point. The staff is also so gracious and kind. I’ll be coming back.
Very awesome homemade mexican food. Make a you feel like your mother has spent since morning preparing dinner. Make sure to get the mole enchiladas and also the to die for shrimp enchiladas !
This place is amazing. The food, the drinks, the service, the decor, everything is spot on.Every dish is carefully, individually prepared and it really shows in how good it tastes. We had the Mexican street corn and a variety of 6 tacos, all of which we're so so tasty. Cannot rave enough.Best meal in Portland if you're after tasty, fresh food that won't hit hard on the wallet.
This place has some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. The poblano peppers are amazing. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. The drinks are great as well
I have yet to be disappointed with the quick, friendly service. The food is amazing. It’s apparent that they use only quality ingredients. This place is absolutely perfect. I love the colorful decor and the quaint atmosphere. Outdoor seating is also very impressive. Regardless of the weather, this place is always an excellent choice. It brings sunshine into even the dreariest of days.
Wonderful menu, and the happy hour is an excellent barg. The murals and other Decor are quite lovely
Food was really good. Really enjoyed it. The table side guacamole service was a bit lacking. The server smashed up the guac for about 15 seconds. Left most of the avacado in larges slices. We had to finish the job. It was quite tasty though. Had the guacamole service been better, 5 stars.
Warm and friendly atmosphere. Chilaquiles were good, I would’ve prefer if they were a bit spicy. The chicken tacos were delicious!
Just happened upon this place...and WOW; really, very good - splendid, authentic Mexican food.Never a bad meal. Highly recommended. Taking ANOTHER friend there for lunch tomorrow. ! Que bueno!
Creative menu with fantastic plant-based options. Great prices and fast service. One of my favorite new lunch spots.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Portland! They just moved to their new location on Williams and are doing "take out!" Well worth it!
I purchased carnitas enchiladas with beans and rice on the side. The food lacked flavor and seasoning to me.
The fish tacos is fantastic. They've got THE best margaritas and Santiago is awesome! The outdoor seating is super cute and convenient. I am a huge fan!
Delicious fresh food... best margarita I have ever had... the best in Portland! Great service.. fried icecream is one of a kind!
Ordered my food...specifically told them not to put the cilantro and onions on my tacos...they still did. Also I asked for lemon for my tacos and the girl told me she had to charge me extra because it was a side...I mean come on where do you go eat tacos that doesn't give you lemon. When I got home not only did they messed up on my order but I was missing tacos...there prices are overpriced when they dont even give you all your food and it was not good at all I paid $34 for tacos and still didnt get all of the tacos I ordered! Do not recommend this place.. they should go and inspection the place looks filthy and had a smell when you go in to their restaurant...who know howntgere kitchen is on the other side of the counter.
